Monitoring and Evaluation Systems in Inclusive Education Policy: Focus on existing monitoring and evaluation systems and practices in five European countries

This report synthesises the outcomes from phase 1 of the Monitoring and Evaluation Systems in Inclusive Education Policy (MESIEP) activity. MESIEP focuses on monitoring and evaluation (M&E), which is key to ensuring truly inclusive education systems.

Five countries – Croatia, Ireland, Malta, Serbia and United Kingdom (England) – participated in the work. The aim was to examine the M&E systems in each country and how M&E of inclusive education policy can serve policy development and implementation. The countries contributed detailed information on their M&E systems, institutional relationships and feedback mechanisms, which is presented in the form of country briefs.

The report sets out the theoretical background, main findings and final reflections. Drawing on this information, it presents key messages for effective M&E systems.
