The 2025 eTwinning annual conference will explore the vital themes of citizenship education and ‘Skills for Life’.
A European School Education Platform initiative, eTwinning enables schools, teachers and learners across Europe to collaborate on projects, participate in online discussion groups, and develop professional skills.
This year’s conference, on 23–25 October, will focus on how education fosters democratic participation, European values and essential life skills. Sessions will include discussions, workshops and networking opportunities.
EASNIE director João Costa will give a keynote speech, titled ‘Inclusive education as a journey: Towards a better society with better learning’. Louisa Slavkova, founder of Sofia Platform Foundation in Bulgaria and a European education think-tank, will also give a keynote speech on ‘Curiosity, judgment and belonging in our classrooms’.
In addition, Dr Costa will participate in a panel discussion on preparing all learners, including those with diverse needs, for full participation as citizens in a changing world. Other panel participants include Deirdre Hudson from the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Education and Culture, and Emma Varan Oien from the European Federation for Intercultural Learning, together with teachers from Slovakia and Romania.
